Audio, Music, Graphic Design, and Writing
My name is Keenan Ketzner, and I'm a multidisciplinary artist based in Whatcom County, Washington. I studied audio production at Fairhaven College, where I specialized my learning in mixing, mastering, engineering, and composition. Over the years, I’ve collaborated with a wide range of musicians and filmmakers, bringing a deep curiosity and hands-on approach to every project. From recording engineer, to producer, to re-recording engineer, to live audio, sound design, performing, and more; I can handle many tasks. I have a particular passion for restoring damaged or unconventional recordings, as well as capturing the energy of live performances in challenging environments.
Beyond audio work, I also have a self-taught background in visual art, with training in drawing and photo manipulation. My design portfolio includes poster work for both local and touring artists, as well as experimental visual projects that explore form, texture, and mood. I’m also an active writer, contributing interviews, show reviews, and editorial pieces that reflect my investment in the artistic communities that fascinate me.
And as for writing, it is part of my overall attempts at the world of communications. I used to write for 5 years at What's Up! Magazine, where I actually talked to a lot of really cool artists, both international, but also locally who helped inspire and guide me in my own world-- but of course it was also cool to talk to Creed Bratton for 30 minutes. Otherwise I've written for a few other online publications, mostly the follow up to WUM which is Shut Up! And Listen, where I am able to spread out with my more comedic side. I also have done radio hosting, podcast work, YouTube videos, and more, but really trying to open up this side of my creativity.
The name Keenwa is a blend of my first name and the place I’ve called home for most of my life. It captures the tone I strive for in my work: fresh, playful, grounded in personal experience. As Keenwa, I aim to create spaces where sound, image, and narrative coalesce into boundary-pushing art. Every project I take on is guided by my DIY ethos and a deep respect for the artists and stories at the heart of the work. People say this a lot, but art really is at the core of my life and I hope that I'm able to share some of the joy it brings with all of you.
